Andrew Marcus is a proud lifelong New Yorker. Born and raised in our communities, Andrew is the proud product of NYC public schools, including PS234 in Tribeca, and has a BA in Mathematics & Physics and an MA in Urban Planning both from CUNY Hunter College. Since high school, Andrew has been focused on serving our city and giving back to our community. From interning for our local City Councilmember, to working with Mayor Bloomberg in City Hall, to a career in urban planning and economic development, Andrew is dedicated to public service and addressing our local needs. For more than ten years Andrew has led innovative commercial revitalization efforts to help small businesses in neighborhoods across our city. He knows our streets because he walks them every day. At a time when Washington is full of ideologues and showmen, Andrew will elevate our concerns and work to address the issues that affect us.

Born and raised in our neighborhoods
Andrew grew up in Downtown Brooklyn, went to school in Lower Manhattan, and lives on the Lower East Side. He knows our streets and understands the issues we deal with on a daily basis. We deserve to live in clean, safe, affordable neighborhoods, where everyone is treated with respect, where there is pride in our public resources, and government works for our citizens.

Invest in our public spaces and public safety
Our parks and public spaces are where community is cultivated. We need to invest in renovating and maintaining our green spaces so they can serve as the neighborhood anchors we all deserve. When we invest in public space, we signal that we care about our neighborhoods, and we can build trust and address quality of life concerns to foster public safety.

Affordable housing with neighborhood preservation
We can have both! Our city is unaffordable, we need new housing now that is affordable for middle income families, so we can stay and raise our children here. But, we cannot let development destroy the fabric of our communities - we need to preserve our communities' character and small businesses while growing the supply of housing to meet the demand.

Bottom up economic development - small business first
When our small businesses thrive, our communities thrive. We need to ensure that small businesses have the resources, services, and advantages that help them compete. We need to level the playing field so entrepreneurs and small businesses can succeed, and end unfair tax breaks for large corporations.

For 4 years Brad Lander failed as NYC Comptroller. Today the city faces a $12 billion budget deficit that grew while Brad was asleep on the job. As a career politician, Brad is more interested in going to protests that actually doing his job.
Andrew Marcus will elevate our local needs in Congress - he’s a moderate pragmatist, not an ideologue - and he is ready to work for us in DC.
